Whale shark swimming in Bohol – a better alternative to Oslob.

Skip Oslob? How Cebu City & Bohol Offer the Ultimate Island Adventure

Introduction

Why I Chose Cebu and Bohol

If you want to swim with whale sharks, you don’t need to go to Oslob—Bohol offers the same experience! Plus, it saves you travel time, letting you visit other attractions more efficiently.

While Oslob is famous, it can get crowded, and there are concerns about its environmental impact. On the other hand, Bohol offers a more natural setting to swim with whale sharks, making it a more sustainable option.

Not only that, Bohol is home to the Chocolate Hills and the Tarsier, the world’s smallest primate, both of which are unique to this area. By combining Bohol with Cebu City, you can enjoy the vibrant city life and have a well-rounded trip.

What You’ll Experience in This Trip

✔ Swim with whale sharks (not in Oslob, but in Bohol!)

✔ See the Tarsier (the world’s smallest primate)

✔ Explore the Chocolate Hills

✔ Relax on a Loboc River Cruise with food

✔ Enjoy local food in Cebu City

Destinations & Experiences

Bohol Highlights – More Than Just the Chocolate Hills!

What Makes Bohol Special?

Bohol is an island full of breathtaking nature and unique wildlife. While it offers a relaxed atmosphere, it also has plenty of activities that will keep you entertained.

What I Did in Bohol

✔ Swam with whale sharks – No need to visit Oslob!

In Lila, Bohol, you can swim with whale sharks, an experience that’s less touristy and takes place in a more natural environment compared to Oslob. It’s only a one-hour drive from Bohol’s ferry terminal, making it very accessible.

✔ Visited the Tarsier Sanctuary – Saw the world’s smallest primate.

✔ Explored the Chocolate Hills – Hiked to the viewpoint and took epic photos.

✔ Enjoyed the Loboc River Cruise – A scenic boat ride with traditional Filipino food and live music.

Why I Recommend This Experience

You can still see whale sharks without going to Oslob, and by choosing Bohol, you also get to experience the Chocolate Hills and the Tarsier. The ferry ride makes it easy to access, so it’s more efficient and offers more variety!

Cebu City Highlights – The Food, the Culture, and the Vibes

What Makes Cebu City Unique?

Cebu City is the oldest city in the Philippines, blending history with modern culture. It’s also known for its street food scene!

What I Did in Cebu City

✔ Tried local street food – Lechon and fresh seafood.

✔ Visited Magellan’s Cross – A historic landmark from the Spanish era.

✔ Explored Carbon Market – A lively market with fresh produce and handmade goods.
